Therapeutic Dances

(dance therapy)

therapeutic dances are a rehabilitation method designed to

restore the motor functions of the body.

Most recently, a Russian ballroom dancer Stanislav Popov received a patent for the invention "A method of physical rehabilitation of patients with coronary heart disease after surgical treatment with the help of ballroom dancing."

how does it work?

The goal of dance therapy is not about learning choreographic techniques, but about discovering your own movement expressions. The instructor accompanies you in performing specific dance movements. Your personal needs will determine the structure of therapy.

You can determine what kind of music you would like to hear during classes. Music should be suitable for your needs.

As a neurogenesis exercise, dancing also takes a lot of coordination. You have to actively engage your brain to memorize the steps, which is excellent for neurogenesis. Classes will not overload you either physically or emotionally.

Classes can:

  • train muscles weakened during the illness and normalize their tone, reduce the intensity of the pain syndrome
  • restore impaired reflexes and the ability to control coordinated body movements
  • improve the condition of the cardiovascular and respiratory system
  • relieve emotional stress, increase endurance and cope with fatigue and weakness

This method can be used after:

  • stroke
  • myocardial infraction
  • injuries of the musculoskeletal system
  • traumatic brain injuries
  • diseases of bones, joints

There are a few prohibitions for practicing therepeutic dances:

  • severe condition when there is no possibility of self- controlled movements
  • high or very low blood pressure, heart rhythm disturbances
  • weakness, high body temperature

Dance movements become a medicine for both the body and the soul.

We are always happy to help you on the way to recovery.
